GEA | Docu-Style Case Study
The Challenge
GEA: We need to create a marketing asset for one of our lesser-known, but highly effective water treatment products; A centrifuge.
The Process
What does a water treatment centrifuge look like and what part does it play in the water treatment process? Understanding that was really key in order to tell a good story. From our conversations with the client, we understood that centrifuges have two benefits 1 - it is able to extract more water, increasing efficiency. 2 - it helps to separate remaining soot so that instead of being thrown back into the river it can be stored, preventing further pollution.
A centrifuge is a hard sell because it’s a hard shell (couldn’t resist), a cold coil, and other bits of metal until you realise the potential environmental impact it brings. Telling this story now was a case of highlighting the product’s human impact on the environment, the people, and communities in the area.
We chose to interview a local from the Serpong area to share the Cisdane River’s importance to the surrounding communities. We also found thematic connections between the water cycle, the circular motion of centrifuges, and the circle of life. All these elements ultimately informed how we approached the script and bridged the gap between the product and the buyer.
